DISORDERLY "OCEAN" STOKERS.
Before Mr. F. A. Hazeland at the Polies Court yesterday Sergeant. Aris, of Bay View, charged four stokers of H.M.S. Ocean with disderly conduct and assault. The man. it was stated, were absent from their ship without lease, and were on their way to the Metropole Hotel. When near Bay View, they overturned rieshas. An Indian constable saw this, and a attempted to arrest them but was assaulted by the stokers in a body. He still endeavoured, however, to perform his duty, and was successful in taking one man to the station. He reported the matter to Sergeant Aris, who with three other constables, followed the stokers to the Bis Metropole, and thers arrested theis. Worship fined each of the defendants $5. and the two who overturned the ricshes were each ordered to pay $3 compensation.
