For example, two British fleets, one trading to Australia and the other to South Africa, have been covered against war risks for 12 months at merely nominal rates. The terms are indeed more favourable to owners than many underwriters consider prudent, and it is obvious that ship owners will be very foolish to run large indeterminate risks on their steamers when they can get them insured for less than 10s. per cent. for a year.

HARMSTON'S CIRCUS.

Harmston's Circus still continues to find farour with the pleasure seeking publi: of Hongkong, and the nightly, performances provoke rounds of applause both from Europeon and Chinese spectators, the latter particularly, seeming to enjoy the wonderful fests of, the performers.
