THE EXPLOSION OF THE “MAÏNE.”

A. New York telegram to the Manila Cablenews says that there has been a bill intro duced in the Senate allowing the Spanish Claima Commission to hear claims arising from the explosion of the battleship Maine in the harbour of Havans. The majority of these claims are presented on part of the families of the victions of the Muine explosion, and the passage of the bill will shorten the time necessary for the con- sideration of the claims, as otherwise it would have been necessary to have presented these claims to the regularly constituted Court of Claims.
