The decorations at the Club Lusitano in Shelly Street were on a lavish scale, and very offective they proved. The whole frontage was picked out with coloured portrait lanterns. In the arch above the main entrance was a huge illuminated portrait of the King and Queen surrounded with a border made up of the rose, thistle and abstrack. In the two aroles to the right and loft of the contral design the letters "E." and "A" were exhibited, being formed by large gas globes, which, together with the other decorations, yiided & very fine effect and drew forth much admiration,

The North China Insurance Co. bed the front of their offices prettily decked with Japanese lanterus bearing portraitsof the King and Queen Messrs. Carlowitz & Co. and Messrs. Armbold, Karborg & Co. combined in the decoration of the premises occupied by them, and had a very effective display of coloured fanterns, etc.

Messra, Noronha & Co.'s offers in Des Voux Road Central worn on the second and third floors bung with Japanese lanterns, while on the

KOWLOON.

The Kowloon community made no pretence of emulating the elaborate scheme of decorations and illuminations extried out on the other side of the barbons, the display made on the premises of the Hongkong & Whampoa Dock Company-at-Honghom being the most promin- out. The central part of the yard was decorated with the letters "E.R.:" surmounted, by the Royal crown and cutlined by dogble rows of in- candescent lights. The letters stood about fiteen feet high and the crown upwards, of twenty feet, and the designs were placed in an elevated position near the water front. At the eastern extremity of the Docks the residence of the manager, Me. W. Wilson, was ontliner from roof to the hasament by electric arc lights. No
