ALLEGED DISORDEELINESS.

Sander Singh, a private watchman in the employ of the Wanchai Co., was charged on remand with behaving in a disorderly manner by throwing stones at Jenafe Young, a married women living at 247, Queen's Road East.

When the case Hrst came before the Court complainant said defendant accosted her in the street and asked her where she was going. She took no notice of him, and defendant then picked up some stones and threw them at her.

When the caso came before the Court yester day complainant withdrew the charge and defendant was acquitted.

This was a claim for $1,534.66 damages, alleged to have bean stained by reason of the defer. dant's negligence in suffering his houser, No. 32 and 34. Cochrane Street, to remain in such bad repair that they foll and damage the plaintif's house, No. 31, Cochrane Street.

Mr. M. W. Slate, acrister-at-law (instructed

by Messrs. Wilkinson & Grist, Bol citors). appeared for the pilioti. The defendant was not represontal in Court.

In his statement of claim, the plaiuli said that be resided at 2, Hollywood toad and was the owner of the house 31, Cochrane Street. Fefendant resided at 41. Stanley Street and was the owner of the houses, 32 and 34, Cochrane Street. The defendant's houses wore of such faulty construction and the defendant kopt them in such bad repair that on the 14th of Apgast, 1901, the house fell and in their fall broke and tore down the verandabs of the plain- tiff's house and damaged the front of it. I consequenes.of the aforesaid default and neglect of the defondant, the plaintiff was compelled to re-erect the verandahs and repair the front of his house at a cost of 1960 and lost five and a half months rent amounting to $473, less $33.34 received for storing goods on the ground floor. In his defence the defendant denied that he was the owner of the houses, 32 and 3, Cochrane Street. He admitted that these houses foll on 14th August, 1963, and damaged the beuse, 31, Cochrang Street. But the said fall and lamage were not due to any neglect or default on the defendant's part." The damage did not amount to $1,499.66 or any eam near thereto. In bis reply to this defence, the plaintiff stated that if the defendat was not now the owner of the houses 32 and 34, Cochrane Street, which was not admitted, he was the owner on 14th August,
