instant, the reception at Government House will be held, Monday being chosen in order to avoid clashing with the more public festivities. From the original programme therefore we miss the congratulatory vote

CONNAUGHT Statue (already performed) the review of troops, the Chinese Flower Show (already held), the presentation of Addresses and Children's Tea (both already held). It will be seen that it is thus a rauch curtailed ceremony which will mark the King's accession, largely owing to the fact that several of the items of the first arranged programme have been very pro- perly carried out without waiting for the actual day of the Coronation. In one way it is a great advantage to be able to concen.. trate all the commemorative ceremontes, $7.80 with the exception of the cutting of the P.60 firet sad of the new Park, into the space of one day, and, given fine weather and a loyal effort on the part of residents to contribute all they can to the brillianey of the evening festivities, there should be u. moet effective show made by the city of Victoria. We are sure that the inhabitants will require no admonishment to make them strive their utmost to attain this end.
