The total plague mortality in India for the week ended 9th November was 1,09%; of whisk! 831 deaths took place in Myers on 811 in the Bombay Presidency. Bombay Cityreported 72 deaths against 35 in Calcutta. The decrease" which was shown in the plagu mortality for the week ended 9th Novombar was not sustained. The figures for the weekanded 18th November were almost identical with those for the week ended 2nd November, the only import ant change being that 67 deathe from plagis were reported from Kashmere daring the week onded the 16th, whereas only two deadle wore shown in the preceding week's figaw.
The France Militaire announce the inven. tion of a new gun and states that the chief object of the recent visit of the Frosch Minister of War to Bourges was in order to be present at the trials of the gan. The inventer is Lieut. Ravon, of the French artillery, who was promoted from the ranks owing to the interest he showed and the anggestions he do in con- nexion with gun-making.
