PRINCE CHUN IN SHANGHAI.
We take the following account of Prinos Chun's second visit to Shanghai from the N.-C. Daily News of the 2nd at:-The member of the Imperial House of China-Prince Chan upon whom the oyes of the world have been resting during the past few months, arrived on his native soil yesterday morning. After a brief sojourn, full of dramatic episodes, in Germany, the Imperial Prince sel sail for China in the Norddeutscher Idoyd steamship Bayern, arriving at Woosung early yesterday morning.
arty in the morning, the China Merchants' steamship Heeslin, with a large crowd of Chinese officials on board, proceeded to Was sung to meet the Prince. At eleven o'clock the Haeshin returned up the river, flying the Chinese flag and guily dressed with bunting, and came up alongside the Kinteayuon wharves. At this place preparatione had been made to give the Princs a fitting reception. Flags wore flying, Chiuose molliors lined the approach te the wharves, and a Chiness band played melodious airs as the big steamship came to an anchorage.
But where was the Prince The band played its hardest, fireworks grackled with fearsome din, and the sorrled rauke of Chinamen pressed against each other with unsubduable enger cas to witness the great one descend from the vessel. But a whisper went round the great concOUTHI that Prines Chan was not on lourd, that he was still engaged in the mastication of his breakfast on the Bayern down at Wocsung. and that he would not arrive until noon. The Just firework splattered a weak protest against the delay and the waste of gunpowder; the press of people split into small groups; the patire banded its music; the escort of mounted Bikolicumen clattered away to headquarters; e feruigners bent on eight seeing walked idly up and down the foreshore, and Lis Chinose stared with tolid persistency at the foreigners for another hour.

The League suggests the following as vital pojuts in any ravision of the treaties:-
Abolition of lekin..
Free navigation of inland waters.
Internal residence for trading purposes.
A common code for the arrangement of all questions affecting property, and which concern both foreigners and natives.
Mixed tribunals at the treaty ports to ad-" niinister the common code.

The two last-mentioned would no doubt be dealt with in the common code.
