THE FIGHT KESUMED.
In the morning fighting was resumed. Dur: ing the night Kitchener had arrived, and had the pleasure of witnessing a complete trimurph of British over Boer. The latter numbered fully three thousand ander De Wet and Steyn. They hart two field guns, and had taken up strong position. The British got into close range with their guns, covered by the magni- ficent rifle fire of the Colonials, and shelled the Boer position. The accuracy with which the shells were placed, and the galling rifle fire had a meet disheartening effect upon the Boers, who were very soon demoralised. The Coloniais were with difficulty restrained from rushing the Boer position.
