THE NEW WESTERN MARKET. The report of the committee appointed to consider and report on the question of the now Western Market was submitted. It said that scheme No. 2 commended itself to the members of the Committee with the exception of the Aoting Harbour Master, who objected to it on the ground that the site on the redama tion in front of the triangular lot at the east end of Wing Lok Street was not so corponi antly situated for a harbour office as the site in front of the existing harbour office. The committee had subsequently met and inspected, all the available sites in the vicinity of the Harbour Office, and decided to make enquiries as to whether a site on the reclamation opposite to Marine Lots 224 and 225 could be acquired for the now Western Market. It was fond on enquiry that the property was not in the market
