Ho has submitted to me the formulas of some of his proparations for examination, giving full explanation as to the medical qualition of the ingredient. I have forud the Tung Kyan Sam or Array Modical Powder and the Tit Ta San. or Falling and Bruising Medical Forder com- poord of Musk, Barove, Camphor, Rhubarb, two kinds of gum, with red oxide of mercury and yellow erdphide of arsenic, animal and vegetable charcoal, which are known in western pharmacy. Besides this it contains gold leaf, tigers and dra- gong bones, shavings of antelope and rhinoceros horne which I have shown him that chemical edience proves to be inert, he proposes to emit from the medicine prepared for foreign
