DIRECTIONS.

Vessels coming through the North Channel from: the eastward may, after passing the Lin chiae Lighthouse, keep the Taungming shore about one mile distant till the East Entrance Buoy is sighted, when they should steer to pass it at our cable on the port baud. Pass the other three buoys at our cable on the port hand and stand over towards the right or south-western bank of the Yangtze till in about mid-channel, whether bound up or down the river.

The soundings over the shosier part of the crossing, on the track above indicated, vary from 30 feet to 20 foot the least depth found, which is in the vicinity of the Second Crossing Buoy.

All bearings given are magnetic, and all intimation is received from the Consignees before & M. TO-MORROW, the 30th inet,dopths are for low water of spring tides. requesting it to be lauded here.
