TOTICE is hereby given that a new passage has on through the Tazugming Banke, at the western end of the North Chati- nel, which has bean named the Tsungming Crossing" and marked by the following men-
tioned Brog
EAST ENTRANCE BUOY: A G-Foot, conical black Busy saraunted by a black spherical age, moral in 39 feet of water with Middle Island Beacon bearing S. 9° E. distant 1.4 miles.
FIRST CROSSING BUOY: A 6fect. conical black Broy surmounted by a black cyclindric cage, moored in 2 feet of water, with Milo Island Beacon boaring S. 43 E. distant 6.1 miles.
SECOND CROSSING BUOY: A foot conieil, black Busy surmounted by a black triangular age, moored in 2 foot of water, with Middle Island Beacon bearing 8. 5 E.
istant 6.5 miles.
WEST SPIT BUOY: A 16-fout, conical, red and black, vertically striped Baoy sur mounted by a black sphoricul cage, moored in 30 fost el' water, with Middle Island Beeson bearing S. 87 E. distant 74 miles.
DIRECTIONS.
Vosgols coming through the North Channal from the eastward may, after passing the Liu- chino Lighthouse, keep the Teungming above about one mile distant till the East Eutrance Buoy is sighted, when they should steer to pass it ut one cable on the port hand. Pass the other thra buays at one cable on the port hand and ovor towards the right or south-western stant bank of the Yangtze till in about, mid-chanuel, whether bound up or down the river.
The soundings over the shoaler part of the erossing, on the track above indicated, vary from 30 fast to 20 foot the least depth found, which is in the vicinity of the Second Crossing Buoy,
All bourings given are magnetic, and all depths are for low water of spring tides.
CAUTION.
The food tide sets to the N.W. ncross the channel, and this must be guarded_against, especially batween the East Entrance Buoy and. the Firat Crossing Buoy.
