London, 29th January, The Manchester Guardian says that Sir J, Westland's scheme continues to be keenly dis oussed and that'opinione aro vory diverse. The aplauses naturally like the sohars better than the manufactavors, while the merchants are thankful for small mercies. THE ITALIANS IN ABYSSINIA
Bombay, 24th January.

Captain Barbero, Italian Cousal in Bombay, has been instansted by telegrapha to despatch a thousand bullocks from the pork to Massornh, and also to procure for immediate transmission five thousand sun helmets. It is found more dificult than might have been expected to weet either of those not very formidable indents. Only Bfty bullocks could be obtained in Bombay, the number requirol for local enumption and Alangbter at Bundoro from day to day, being very limited. The Mofussil, however, was equal to the demand, and a British India steamer will take the whole thousand to Mass before the end of the month. The requisition for 5000
