St. James rofurned to Hanoi ill, and M. Nicole died on the Black River M. Parie, though inf- Juring from Bausa, continued the journey with his well-known energy, and finally he arrived at Loving Prabang with MM. Maisie, Vacie, and Garager, aud found awaiting the Caplain Copat and Lient. (now captain) Niaclon Hav ing arrived at Luang-Frabang, and socom plished the mission of pacification en rauta with which he bed boos charged by the Go. vernment, M. Pario, still wished, before ra. turning to France, to find the roota from Tang Prabang to Vish. This latter part of the voyage has now been happily recouplished.
