A plant of 525 1-candle power lamps is in 19 at the cotton factory of the Osaka Boska Com- pany, and the cost of running has been found to be less than one-third of a cent por lamp per hour,

The total cost of lighting the factory per year is. $5,553, against an setiusted coat by ol of $2,000, the Electric light having the advantage of greater brilliancy, staadiness and perfect safety. These estimates incizda an allowance of 8 per Cent. interest on cost of the installation, and the usual wear and tear.
