TONQUIN.

The Haiphong Hongkong telegraph cable was ent in the river at Haiphong a short time ago. Five Annamitos suspected of having enused the

On the 4th instant the militia stationed at Haiphong Wook the village of Thai Nghi, which was occupied by three hundred pirates. On the nide of the French cre man was killed; on the site of the piratas a hundred, Thai-Nghi in sitn nted near Elephant Mountain, and was a pirater Iair where the bands dispersed in the environs of Haipong reformed. The ocopation of the village, says the Courrier d'Haiphong, is there fere an important event and will roader the secu- rity of the region complote.
