KIDNAPPING.
Chan Atat was charged with decoying a child of seven years of age to To Kwa Wan from the custody of Worg Atam, the child's aunt, on the 9th inst. Another prisczar, In Ayan, had bien charged at the Police Court for receiving the child at his house at To Kwa Wan, but was not indioted.
The prisoner, his defence, stated that he sold the child to Ip Ayau for $26, but only as a go-between for three athers, the money net baing his Jp Ayan, who was examined, iden tified the prisoner and stated he paid him $26 for the shild, but he said he received no paper in writing in regard to the sela.
The jury found the prisoner guilty, and biạ Lordship, in giring sentence, sail the prisoner had nine previous convictions, principally for bangle, nooklet, and earring stealing, extending over a number of years.
