PC. Wyllie found the deceased sitting in Graham-street at midnight on the 16th inst Ha had no pises of abade nor visible means of anbsistence.
The defondant said that about six weeks ago I was discharged from the American ship - vincible, and he had now ac place to live in. His wrist and shoulder wory eprained from bring a kacoked down by the mate of the ship whilo on the high soos.
The one was remanded and the dofondant was sent down to the wrbour Master to see if anything could be done for him, but Capt. Thom- sett was unable to do anything.
The defendant was discharged, and an order was given for the Hospital for him.

The prisoner admitted the charge. Inspector Lysanght sail this was not the pri somer's first offence for drunkenness he bore a bad character. On the last ocasion, the 4th October, he was fined $20.
The prisoner said he took drink with him, going on duty.
The case way remanded to Tuesday, bail allow. ed in two sureties of $25 each.
