I noticed to-day that many brood mares are kept by the people, for saddle and harness too. We passed through a large town called Wang- fan Chân; them through a very fine and well oul- tírated plain. Between the bearings N. 20° 54′ E. and N. 41.17 E. the Light is obscured by Tripod Island, and to the eastward and south-eastward of Vidoo and the Fisherman's Group it is not visi ble between N. 83° 39′ W. and N. 57°41′ W. To the westward sed north-westward of Hal! Island-and-awott-Island-it-is-also-obeonred batwoen B. 92 19* E. and S. 63° 35' E., with the exception of a ray between the hearings 8. 65° 53′ E, and S. 64° 39' E.
