recovered strength, he was for. warded to Malta, and a few days, since he arrived in England, together with a number of other convalescents. He made his way to the depôt at Chesham, but no one seemed acknowledge him. On pay-day be ready to applied for his cush, and thon found that he was marked off the register as dead. He was at some pains to prove life identity, and was finally shunted off to Portsmonth.
