The success of other pablia companies in Shanghai and Hongkong, and the evidence of a large sum of monay cesting invest ment in Obina, encourage the belief that the proposed Capital for this Bunk wil be readily subscribed; any influential native werchunts are already come forward as active promoters and npporters of the undertaking, and the Committee look for s very valuable constituency from Uhinese sonrogt.
The legal constitution of the Bank is enguring the consideration of the Dom- mitter, and reference has basp made to
London and elsewhere for the best legal advice upon the subject; and it is under- stood that operations will not be com mouned until the neemary grangements -bare-buen completed, when further in- formation will be laid before intending Shareholders. In the meantime, applica tions for Bharos are invited, until the 16th. April, 1973, and should be made in the sub- joined form, and addressed to the Prosi Rional Committee, are of the Secretary, JAMES GILFILLAN, Ebangbai.

zon a Fixed White Eight, varked by Flashes at
intervals of ball a minute. The centre of the light is 227 feet above High Water, and in elour weather it will be visible 22 nautical railes. The lighthonea is 68 feet in height from base lo vane. The tower is painted black, with the exception of the parapet, and window facings which are of granite dopaisted. The Light keepers dwellings and surrounding will are painted white. The light-house is situated in Lar. 24°10′ 18 N., and Long 118° 19′ 30′′ E.
