The Chin-Chin a Hamburg schooner in Whampoa was fiting a salute the other day. when from the root heing improperly served, the man loading was blows overbourd. The remios much disfigured have been recovered.

SIR-I would call your attention to a dan- ger Northward of the Lammocks Islands on which the British barque Bride of the Seas struck May 30th. 1864 on her passage. from Shanghai to Swatow Draft of water-14 feet. The Rock bears N. W. N. one mile from the North Rocks of the Lammocks; the above po-- sition cannot be far from right as I had good cross bearings of North Rocks and fligh Lammack a few minutes after striking." have no doubt but the above is the Rock marked doubtful on Admiralty Chart, Sheet III of Ching Coast, Collinsons Survey; and which has been successfuly searched for by H. M. S. Plover and others. There can be no doubt of its existance as on docking in the Amoy Dock I find the fore foot entirely gone. If you will publish the above you will confer a favont on vessels navigating that part of the
