Appointments to ACTEQ announced

The Government announced today (Friday) that seventeen members of the Advisory Committee on Teacher Education and Qualifications (ACTEQ) have been re-appointed for a further term of one year with effect from May 1, 1997.

Commenting on the re-appointment, the Secretary for Education and Manpower, Mr Joseph W P Wong said that the Government was grateful for ACTEQ's valuable advice and contribution in the past years, and in particular its hard work in the language benchmarking exercise.

"The Government looks forward to the continued support and advice of ACTEQ in language benchmarking, as well as teacher education and qualification issues, which are highly important for raising the quality of our school education", he added.
