The ceremony will be performed by the Chairman of the Committee on Home- School Co-operation, Mr Tik Chi-yuen; Legislative Council member, Mr Tong Ying- lin; Assistant Director of Education (Services), Mr David Pun; and Hong Kong Sports Institute Chief Coach (Badminton), Miss Amy Chan.
After the ceremony, executives from various parent-teacher associations will distribute thank-you cards to parents during a bus parade throughout the territory. The bus will stop at Time Square, Causeway Bay, New World Plaza and Whampoa Garden Shopping Centre (Phase VI).
Parents are requested to sign the cards and send them to teachers for appreciation.
Last year, the 'Parents also Appreciate Teachers' Drive had succeeded in distributing some 45,000 cards to teachers.
Backing with the success of last year, the response of this year is expected to be even better with more parents understand the importance of teachers after two teachers losing their lives in protecting their students during a tragic hill fire early this year.

More results of Conduct Council election
The Education Department today (Friday) announced results of the election for teacher-nominated categories in the Council on Professional Conduct, which was held on Wednesday (April 24). The election was held in 1,669 schools. A total of 42,689 teachers cast votes in the election, representing 84 per cent of all eligible voters in the teacher-nominated categories.
The Assistant Director of Education (Services), Mr David Pun, expressed satisfaction with the high turnout in the election.
The department had conducted 118 visits to schools throughout the territory on the election day and no irregularities had been detected.
