Voters urged to support Tuen Mun by-election

The Tuen Mun district officer, Mr Patrick Chan, today (Friday) urged registered voters to cast their ballots in the Tuen Mun District Board by-election for the Siu Hei Constituency on Sunday.
Mr Chan reminded the electorate that the district boards are an important consultative body on government policies and had made important contributions to improving the living environment, public services and facilities in the district.
"In particular, the Tuen Mun District Board has made substantial efforts to bring about better town planning within areas under its jurisdiction. This has led to general enhancement in the quality of life," he added.
The balloting will be held from 7.30 am to 10.30 pm.
A polling station will be set up at the Yan Chai Hospital Law Chan Chor Si Primary School, 29 Wu King Road, Tuen Mun.
Two candidates - Mr Yim Tin-sang and Ms Wong Yin-ping will be vying for the seat vacated by Mr Ng Wai-cho.
The Siu Hei constituency, comprising mainly Siu Hei Court, Marina Garden, Miami Beach Tower and Yuet Wu Villa has an electorate of 10,246.
Voters are also reminded to bring along their identity cards and their poll cards to the polling station.

The Director of Water Supplies, Mr Hu Man-shiu, and the Chairman of Tsuen Wan District Board, Mr Chan Lau-fong officiated at the official opening of the Sham Tseng Treatment Works today (Friday) to mark the United Nations World Water Day.
