Progress of road pricing study explained
Following is a question by the Hon Wong Ping-wai and a reply by the Secretary for Transport, Mr Haider Barma, in the Legislative Council today (Wednesday).
Question:
In regard to the Electronic Road Pricing Feasibility Study being carried out by the Transport Department, will the Government inform this Council:
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
of the present progress of the study and its expected completion date;
whether the existing establishment of professional staff in the Transport Department is adequate to handle the extra workload arising from the study;
if the answer to (b) is in the negative, whether additional staff have been or will be recruited; if so, what are the details; and
whether a forecast has been made of the additional manpower resources required for implementing the recommendations of the study; if so, what are the details?
