She left the Administrative Service in 1975 to join the Independent Commission Against Corruption where she later became head of the Community Relations Department in charge of its programme of public education. She re-joined the Government in 1980 and was posted to the London Office until 1984.
On return, she held a number of positions including Deputy Director of Urban Services from 1984 to 1989, Deputy Director of the former Hospital Services Department from 1989 to 1990, Deputy Secretary for Health and Welfare from 1990 to late-1992 and Secretary-General of the Office of the Members of the Legislative Council from 1993 to 1994.
She took up her last post as Director of Buildings in January 1994.

Taxi fare conversion tables for collection
Taxi fare conversion tables showing the existing fares scales as against the new fare scales to be effective from February 4 this year will be available for collection by taxi owners from tomorrow (Monday).
Urban taxi owners can collect the tables at all Licensing Offices of the Transport Department; the department's Public Vehicles Section on third floor, United Centre, 95 Queensway, Hong Kong; and Public Enquiry Service Centres of all urban District Offices and the Sha Tin, Kwai Tsing and Tsuen Wan District Offices.
New Territories taxi owners can collect the tables at the department's Licensing Offices, the Pubic Vehicles Section and Public Enquiry Centres of the North, Sai Kung, Tai Po, Yuen Long and Tuen Mun District Offices.
For taxi associations, they can collect fare conversion tables in lots from the Public Vehicles Section for distribution to their members.
Taxi owners should show their taxi registration documents when collecting the conversion tables.
The conversion table must be displayed at a prominent position inside the taxi until its meter had been recalibrated, tested and sealed by the Transport Department, a spokesman for the department said today (Sunday).
