New Hospital Authority members appointed
The Government announced today (Thursday) the appointment of four new members and re-appointment of 14 incumbent members to serve on the Hospital Authority Board with effect from tomorrow (December 1).
The four new members are Mr Peter Chan Fuk-sing, Miss Iris Chan Sui-ching, Dr Conrad Lam Kui-shing and the Secretary for the Treasury or his representative.
Mr Peter Chan Fuk-sing is a certified public accountant with extensive involvement in the field of rehabilitation. He is currently a member on the Joint Council for the Physically and Mentally Disabled as well as the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee.
Miss Iris Chan Sui-ching is the Chairman of the Alliance for Patient's Mutual Help Organisations. She has contributed constructive advice and ideas on ways to improve the quality of medical care.
Dr Conrad Lam Kui-shing, a former Legislative Council member, has served on the Advisory Council on Aids since 1993. He also chairs the Hospital Governing Committee of Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital.
The Secretary for Health and Welfare, Mrs Katherine Fok, paid tribute to all existing members for their advice and invaluable contributions to the improvement of hospital services in Hong Kong.
"I look to them as well as new members for their continued support and active participation in ensuring the provision of quality patient care in Hong Kong," she said.
