So Kwun Wat Road to be upgraded and realigned
The developer of a residential and commercial project in So Kwun Wat will upgrade and realign a section of So Kwun Wat Road and to construct a new road to cater for future traffic load.
The new road will be formed to alleviate the local traffic flow and to provide an emergency access to the development. This road scheme was gazetted on April 23, 1993, but amendment has been made to the road design at the junction of Castle Peak Road and So Kwun Wat Road.
Throughout the road construction period, the existing So Kwun Wat Road will be kept in service until its upgraded section is completed to the satisfaction of the Government. The existing section of So Kwun Wat Road will then be closed and the traffic will be diverted to the new upgraded section.
All the works are to be constructed at the expenses of the developer and be handed back to Government upon completion for maintenance.
A notice for the proposed works is published in the Government Gazette today (Friday).
A plan showing the proposed works can be seen at the following locations:
Central and Western District Office,
Public Enquiry Services Centre,
ground floor,
Harbour Building,
38 Pier Road,
