SALES OF THESE ITEMS INCREASED SPENDING ON CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR. 25% IN VALUE AND 15% IN VOLUME.

JEWELLERY AND IN

MODERATE INCREASES WERE RECORDED IN THE SALES OF WATCHES (9% IN VALUE AND 4% IN VOLUME); FUELS (9% IN VALUE AND 4% VOLUME); AND OTHER FOODSTUFFS (6% IN VALUE AND 5% IN VOLUME).

SALES IN SUPERMARKETS AND SALES OF CONSUMER DURABLE GOODS OTHER BUT THAN MOTOR VEHICLES INCREASED BY 8% AND 3% RESPECTIVELY IN VALUE,

SALES IN DEPARTMENT BOTH WITH VIRTUALLY NO CHANGE IN VOLUME. INCREASED BY 7% IN VALUE, BUT DROPPED BY 1% IN VOLUME.

THE OTHER HAND, SALES OF MOTOR VEHICLES DECREASED BY 6% VALUE AND 11% IN VOLUME.
