HE NOTED THAT THE RODP ROAD NETWORK HAD BEEN DICTATED REQUIREMENTS OF ROUTE 7 (SAI YING PUN TO KENNEDY TOWN); LINK; ROUTE 7 (KENNEDY TOWN TO ABERDEEN), AND GREEN ISLAND LINK.

HIGHWAY NETWORK CONSISTS OF ROUTE 7 AND THE GREEN ISLAND

"INTERCHANGES BETWEEN THESE TWO ROUTES AND THE NEW RECLAMATION AREA PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE LOCAL ROAD NETWORK.

"ROUTE 7 WILL BE CONSTRUCTED ON AN ELEVATED STRUCTURE TO PROVIDE LINKS BETWEEN EXISTING KENNEDY TOWN AND THE NEW DEVELOPMENT MINIMISE AREA WHILE THE GREEN ISLAND LINK IS BROUGHT INTO A TUNNEL TO ITS IMPACT ON THE NEW DEVELOPMENT," MR CHAU SAID.

ON LOCAL ROAD NETWORK, MR CHAU SAID AN EAST-WEST PRIMARY DISTRIBUTORS DISTRIBUTOR WOULD SERVE THE RECLAMATION AND TWO DISTRICT ACT AS NORTH-SOUTH CONNECTIONS.

"IT IS PROPOSED THAT PART OF THE PRIMARY DISTRIBUTOR WILL BE IN TUNNEL TO MAXIMISE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS AND LAND VALUES," HE ADDED.

REGARDING PUBLIC TRANSPORT DEMANDS, THE STUDY PROPOSED THAT THEY BE MET BY THE MASS TRANSIT RAILWAY (MTR), TRAM, FRANCHISED BUSES, AND GREEN MINI-BUSES.
