I will want to make regular visits to the United States. Whether I will come every year or at this time every year I think we'11 have to judge in due course, but I would very much welcome it, as I'm sure the Administration would if we were to arrive at a situation in which this spring time debate on MFN renewal didn't appear to be the center point of policy on China.

I think it would be helpful if that was no longer the situation.

Well I think you will have recalled that at the beginning of my very valuable meeting with the President there was a photo call and during the photo call as happens these days one of the --one of your professional colleagues asked the President a question about the political situation in Hong Kong and the President replied--with views on democratization which I don't imagine will have surprised anyone.

So the Governor of Hong Kong didn't raise the issue with the President, it was raised with the President by one of your professional colleagues.
