TENDERS INVITED FOR SEAWALL EXTENSION AT SAI KUNG

THE CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES DEPARTMENT IS INVITING TENDERS FOR THE PHASE II WORKS OF A SEAWALL EXTENSION PROJECT AT SAI KUNG TOWN.

THE CONTRACT WILL COVER THE CONSTRUCTION OF ABOUT 400 METRES OF PITCHED SLOPE SEAWALL, A SEAFRONT PROMENADE AND RECLAMATION WITH ASSOCIATED TEMPORARY DRAINAGE BEHIND THE SEAWALL.

WORK IS SCHEDULED TO START IN NOVEMBER AND WILL TAKE ABOUT 15 MONTHS TO COMPLETE.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF TENDERS IS NOON ON SEPTEMBER 21.

SPEAKING AT THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE DISTRICT'S SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAMME (SYP) HELD AT THE HENRY G. LEONG YAUMATEI COMMUNITY CENTRE, MS WONG SAID IN DOING

WOULD BE SETTING A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THEIR PEERS.

AS FOR THIS YEAR'S SUMMER YOUTH ACTIVITIES, MS WONG NOTED THAT THERE WAS A GREATER VARIETY AND THE PARTICIPATION RATE HAD INCREASED.

SHE ATTRIBUTED THE PROGRAMME'S SUCCESS TO THE WORK OF THE 200 VOLUNTEERS WHO ATTENDED TODAY'S CEREMONY AS WELL AS THE AGENCIES THEY REPRESENTED.

TWENTY VOLUNTEERS WERE PRESENTED CERTIFICATES OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES IN ORGANISING THE ACTIVITIES.
