THE AREAS COVERED BY THE TWO PLANS ARE CHARACTERISED BY NARROW LANES WHICH ARE INACCESSIBLE TO TRAFFIC AND PRE-WAR BUILDINGS WHICH LACK BASIC AMENITIES.
THE PLANS WOULD PROVIDE THE FRAMEWORKS FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE TWO AREAS BY RESTRUCTURING THE EXISTING LAND USE PATTERNS PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS.

GUIDELINES ARE ATTACHED FOR OFFICE/COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENTS WHICH INCORPORATE VARIOUS GOVERNMENT/INSTITUTION AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES IN THE TWO AREAS.
ALSO, OPPORTUNITIES HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO ENHANCE THE OPEN SPACE PROVISIONS IN THE TWO SCHEME AREAS.

1,500 SQUARE METRES IN AREA HAS BEEN RESERVED ON THE DRAFT LDC SCHEME PLAN FOR JUBILEE STREET/QUEEN'S ROAD CENTRAL WHILE A PUBLIC OPEN SPACE OF NOT LESS THAN 800 SQUARE METRES IN AREA HAS BEEN DESIGNATED ON THE PLAN FOR WING LOK STREET/QUEEN'S ROAD CENTRAL.
