HOWEVER, KMB ROUTES 64K, 65K, 69, 70 AND 73 AS WELL AS GREEN MINIBUS ROUTES 21K AND 25K WOULD HAVE TO CONTINUE TO RUN ALONG THE SERVICE ROADS OF THE TRUNK ROAD BETWEEN WO HOP SHEK INTERCHANGE AND LAM KAM ROAD ROUNDABOUT.
THE EXISTING GREEN MINIBUS ROUTE 65R PLYING BETWEEN SHA TIN KCR STATION AND THE MEI SHA INTERNATIONAL FERRY TERMINAL WOULD BE DIVERTED TO USE THE MA LIU SHUI INTERCHANGE.
THIS ARRANGEMENT WOULD ENABLE MA LIU SHUI FERRY PASSENGERS, WHO AT PRESENT HAVE TO WALK 20 MINUTES TO THE NEAREST TRANSPORT INTERCHANGE AT THE KCR UNIVERSITY STATION, TO TRAVEL DIRECTLY TO SHA TIN TOWN CENTRE.
+IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT MUCH OF THE CURRENT TRAFFIC ON TAI PO ROAD WILL BE ATTRACTED TO THE NEW ROAD, THUS IMPROVING TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON TAI PO ROAD. THE PROBLEM OF CONGESTION AT KAU TO SHAN ROAD IN SHA TIN WILL BE A THING OF THE PAST, MR LEE SAID.
