Mr Thorpe joined the Royal HK Police Force in 1960 and was promoted to his present rank of Assistant Commissioner in 1982. From 1979 to early 1981 Mr Thorpe
During was Chief Staff Officer of Narcotics Bureau. that period he planned and directed a number of very significant operations which severely disrupted the organised importation of narcotics into Hong Kong. has also served with distinction in other Branches of the
Force.

Mr William McIntyre ROSS
His
Mr Ross joined the Force in 1954 and was promoted to his present rank of Chief Superintendent in 1978. service to date has been distinguished by 4 Commissioner's Commendations, the Colonial Police Long Service Medal in 1972 and 1st clasp in 1979 and the Colonial Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1976. Mr Ross has served as Chief Superintendent/Operations in CID/HQ and as Deputy Regional Commander/Kowloon in which latter post his service was particularly distinguished.
