Mr Young is notable for his services to the community in

Southern District, particularly in meeting the needs of students

through his work to set up scholarships, seminars on careers

and further studies, tutorial classes and a telephone homework

guidance scheme. He was a member of the City District Committee

and now the Southern District Board.
