The Honourable LEUNG Tat-shing, J.P.

Mr. Leung was first appointed as a Government officer in 1936,

and retired in 1971 as a Senior Health Inspector after many years' devoted

service. He has trade union interests and was Secretary, Intemational

Affairs, Hong Kong and Kowloon Trades Union Council from 1971 to 1976.

He has been a member of the Legislative Council since 1976 and serves on

a number of public boards and committees, including the Labour Advisory

Board and the Hong Kong Productivity Council.

Mr. Walter Martin SULKE, J.P.

Mr. Sulke has served as a member of the Advisory Committee on

Environmental Pollution (EPCOM) since its inception four years ago and

during that period he has also been the Chairman of EPCOM's Air

Pollution Sub-Committee and a member of the Noise Pollution Sub-Committee.

His dynamic and positive approach to environmental problems have provided

a considerable stimulus not only to the Air Pollution Sub-Committee but

to EPCOM as a whole. The success of EPCOM in its initial four years of

office can, to an appreciable extent, be attributed to Mr. Sulke's energy

and perseverance,

Mr. Sulke is also a member of the Trade and Industry Advisory

Board and an enthusiastic patron of the arts in Hong Kong.

Mr. John Joseph SWAINE, Q.C.. J.P.

Mr. Swaine was appointed as an Administrative Officer in the

Hong Kong Government in 1952 but left the service in 1955 to practise

as a barrister. In this career he has been notably successful and is

highly regarded by the profession. In 1975 he was appointed Queen's

/Counsel.
