GOVERNMENT'S OFFER FOR LAND EXCHANGE ENTITLEMENT DOCUMENTS

THE SECRETARY FOR THE NEW TERRITORIES, MR. DAVID AKERS-JONES, TODAY (TUESDAY) ISSUED A REMINDER ON THE NEW TERRITORIES ADMINISTRATION'S OFFERS TO BUY IN ANY LAND EXCHANGE ENTITLEMENT DOCUMENTS - KNOWN AS LETTER A AND B.
THE ADMINISTRATION WILL BE OFFERING TO PAY THE BALANCE OF $27 TO FORMER OWNERS OF AGRICULTURAL LAND WHO HAVE ACCEPTED $10 OR $17 CASH COMPENSATION INSTEAD OF LETTER B.
FURTHERMORE, THE ADMINISTRATION WILL BE OFFERING TO EXCHANGE FOR LETTER B LAND EXCHANGE ENTITLEMENT ON THE NEW TERMS FOR LAND RESUMED IN THE NEW TOWN AND MARKET TOWN DEVELOPMENT IN THE NEW TERRITORIES.
ON JULY 14 THIS YEAR THE GOVERNMENT ACCEPTED RECOMMENDATIONS ON NEW PROCEDURES AND RATES OF PAYMENT MADE BY THE WORKING GROUP ON NEW TERRITORIES URBAN LAND ACQUISITION HEADED BY SIR YUET-KEUNG KAN.
MR. AKERS-JONES SAID THE ADMINISTRATION WILL BE OFFERING TO BUY IN AGRICULTURAL LAND EXCHANGE ENTITLEMENTS AT THE RATE OF $27 PER SQUARE FOOT AND BUILDING LAND EXCHANGE ENTITLEMENTS AT THE FACE VALUE OF THE DOCUMENTS PLUS AN ADDITIONAL SUM OF $55 PER SQUARE FOOT.
+THESE OFFERS TO BUY IN EXCHANGE ENTITLEMENT DOCUMENTS WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR ACCEPTANCE IN WRITING TO REACH THE APPROPRIATE DISTRICT OFFICE NOT LATER THAN 4 P.M. ON SEPTEMBER 30 THIS YEAR.+
FOLLOWING ARE THE ADMINISTRATION'S OFFERS 1-
* TO BUY BACK LETTER A OR B AGRICULTURAL LAND EXCHANGE
ENTITLEMENTS FROM THE HOLDERS FOR THE TIME BEING AT THE RATE OF $27 PER SQUARE FOOT. THIS OFFER WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR ACCEPTANCE IN WRITING TO REACH THE APPROPRIATE DISTRICT OFFICE NOT LATER THAN 4 P.M. ON SEPTEMBER 30 THIS YEAR.
