TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS IN CENTRAL

The westbound section of Queensway between Cotton Tree Drive
and Garden Road will be closed to traffic between 1 a.m. and 6 n.4. on
Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 6, 7 and 8) to facilitate the
construction of the Queensway Flyover, the Transport Department
announced today.

Motorists proceeding from Wanchai to Central should turn left
up Cotton Tree Drive and turn back into Garden Road at the Peak Tram
Terminus and then to Queen's Road Central.
Cross harbour bus route No. 121 will be diverted to operate
vie Hennessy Road, Fenwick Street, Gloucester Road, Harcourt Road and
Connaught Road Central on its Hong Kong bound journey during the e
periods of road closure.
Also with effect from 10 a.m. on Thursday (October 6), vehicles
will not be permitted to turn right from Des Voeux Road West eastbound
into Western Street southbound in order to facilitate tram track repairs.
This arrangement will last for about two weeks.
Appropriate traffic signs will be set up to guide motorists.
