NEW YEAR HONOURS LIST

C.M.G. (Companion of the Order of St. Michacl & St, George)

The Honourable Denis Campbell Bray, C.V.O., J.P.

Mr. Bray joined the Hong Kong Government in 1950 as an

Administrative Officer. He has served in many departments. and branches

of the Government Secretariat.

Since 1973, Mr. Bray has been Secretary for Home Affairs and

an ex-officio member of the Executive and Legislative Councils.

Mr. Bray will take up his new appointment as Hong Kong

Commissioner in London in 1977.

C.B.E. (Commander Order of the British Empire)

Mr. Roy Evans Downing, J.P.

Mr. Downing joined the Civil Aviation Department in 1947 after

having served in the Royal Air Force. He was appointed Assistant

Director in 1965 and became Director in 1973.

Mr. Downing has been Director during a period of considerable

growth in the airline industry. His department has won the confidence

and respect of the airline industry.

C.B.E. (Commander Order of the British Empire

The Honourable Lee Quo-wei, 0.B.E., J.P.

Mr. Lee is a leading banker who has served on the Legislative

Council since 1968. He was appointed to the Executive Council in 1976.

In addition to his work on the Councils, Mr. Lee is a member of

many public bodies, such as the Banking Advisory Committee and the Economic

Review Committee, the Council of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and

the Polytechnic Board of Governors.
