"The individual circumstances of each family have been carefully

assessed to ensure that suitable rehousing is made available," said Dr. Pryor.

"About 25 per cent of the tenants applied for cheaper accommodation

and this has been obtained by decanting families from cheaper-rent estates

into new blocks and retaining the vacated flats for the low-income families

involved in the redevelopment scheme.

"Similar arrangements will be made in future rehousing operations in

an endeavour to give tenants as wide a choice as possible."
