QI MAN ESTATE NOW HOUSES MORE THAN 40,000
The Housing Authority's Oi Man Estate is now a small township
of its own with a population topping the 40,000 mark.
All 6,200 units in the 12 high-rising blocks will be let by the
end of this month and the population is expected to swell to about
43,000 next month.
The estate's fully air-conditioned commercial complex is
becoming a shopping centre for the tenants as well as residents of the
Ho Man Tin area.
Two branch bank offices and seven shops in the commercial
complex have opened for business and decoration is being carried out at
the restaurant and cafe premises.
The 12 new-style cooked-food-stalls located behind Chiu ilan
House will
open for business tomorrow (Friday).
Apart from the commercial complex there is also the estate
market with about 80 stalls providing estate tenants with all sorts of
foodstuffs and daily necessities.
