CONSTRUCTION OF THE ILTI-HILLIQI-DOLLAR BAILUAY TERMINUS COMPLEX AT HUNG 10 IS ENTERING ITS LAST TULLVE COUTES OF VORK.
THE NEW TERMINUS VILL REPLACE THE EXISTING ONE AT TSIMSHATSUI AND VILL PROVIDE FOR LETTER RAILWAY SERVICES IN
ABOUT HALF OF THE GIANT CONCRETE PODLUM, WHICH FORMS THE BASE OF A HODERN NAILUAY TERMINAL BUILDING, IS NOW COMPLETE AND FOUNDATION WORK FOR THE OTHER HALF IS ALIOST COMPLETE.
THE PODIUM STANDS 30 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL. THE RAILWAY TERMINAL BUILDING ON TOP OF IT WILL BE TWO STOREYS HIGH. THE FLOOR ON PODIUM LEVEL, UHICH IS ALMOST CONFLETE, VILL ACCOIHIODATE A FULLY AIR-CONDITIONED PASSENGER CONCOURSE INCORPORATING A BOOKING HALL, WAITING AREAS, A RESTAURANT AID OTHER USUAL RAILWAY TERMINAL FACILITIES.
THE RAILWAY OFFICES WILL BE HOUSED ON THE UPPER FLOOR. SIX FLATFORMS HAVE CELN CUILT AT GROUND LEVEL DIRECTLY BENEATH THE PODIUN. LIFTS AID ESCALATORS WILL BE INSTALLED TO SERVE PASSENCERS COMUTING BETWEEN TIZ RAILWAY FLATFORMS AND THE STATION BUILDING.
OTHER AUXILIANY WORK OF THE PROJECT INCLUDE:

THE LAYING OF ABOUT EIGHT MILES OF TRACKS AND SIDINGS VINCH WILL EVENTUALLY LINK UP WITH THE EXISTING ALIGNMENT OF THE RAILWAY AT THE PRINCESS HARGARET TUNNEL
TUO VEHICULAR FLYOVERS LIIKING THE PCƆBUN TO GILLIES AVENUE AID THE CROSS HARDGUR TUKKEL APPROACH ROADS. TH200 M.EVATED PEDESTRIAN FOOTERECSES CONECTING THE PODIUM TO ITS SURROUNDING AREAS, AND
NEW SORVICE FACILITIES INCLUDING A SHED FOR REPAIRING LOCOMOTIVES, TURNTABLE AND OIL STORAGE TAINS.
T IS EXPECTED THAT THE RAILWAY TERMINUS WILL BE OPEN TO
TRAFFIC IN FIE SUMER OF 1975.
MEANWHILE. THE KOWLOON-CANTON RAILWAY HAS ORDERED 40 NEW CARRFACES WHICH ARE EXPECTED TO ARRIVE IN OCTOLER THIS YEAR TO BOOST PRESENT ROLLING STOCK. TWELVE OF THE NEU CARRIAGES WILL BE USED TO FORM A NEU TRAIN.
