BUILDING PLANS APPROVED

A total of 63 building plans were approved in January, according

to statistics released today by the Buildings Ordinance Office.

Twenty-three of the plans were on Hong Kong Island, 13 in Kowloon

and 27 in the New Territories.

They includo multi-storey apartment/comercial buildings in Percival

Street, Lockhart Road and Hiu Kwong Stroot in Sau Hau Ping.

Flans for a 40-storey building at Fortress Hill Road include a car

park on five lower-ground floors.

Forty new building projects were given permission to start work

last month,

Occupation certificates vere iscued for 42 domestic and now-domestic

premises, including tonement/commercial buildings in Wanchai, North Point,

Chathan Road and Kwai Chung.

Consent was also given during the month for the demolition of

31 buildings.
