INAUGURATION OF CULTURAL AND RECREATIONAL CCENTTEE

The Cultural and Recreational Cemittoo of the Wong Tai Sin Community

Centre will be officially inaugurated tomorrow (Friday).

The coromony will take place at the Community Centre at 104, Ching

Tak Street, Wong Tai Sin, at 5.00 p.n.

Officiating will be lics Annie Chan, Assistant Director of Social

Welfare, Mr. I.R. Strachan, City District Officer, Wong Tai Sin, Hise Linda Lee,

Senior Education Officer, and Mr. Kuok Ka-chi, Principal Social Welfare Officer

of the Social Welfare Department.

The Cultural and Recreational Committee veo established in November 1968

Hrs. Henrietta Chan, who presently holds the position, caid that since

its founding tho Cemittoo had successfully organised a number of useful

activities, anong which wore two scuinara on "doviant behaviour of the young

in resettlement ostatos" and "social work and school education".

The others included projects to raise funds for the welfare of elderly

people in the area and the formation of the Wong Tai Sin District Children's

choir.

Over the next few months the Committee is planning to organico a number

of different activities including a party for elderly people, a children's

nicht at lorso Park and a singing competition.
