HANDBOOKS FOR DIRECTORS
HAR AA GA
Fresh supplies of books recommended to directors by the Companies
Law Revision Committee are now available.
In its Second Report published last August the Committee urged
all directors to acquaint themselves with the principal requirements of the
law and the standards of ethical conduct followed by the best companies.
To enable directors to do so, the Committee arranged for supplies
of two books prepared by or under the authority of the Institute of Directors
in London to be ande available.
These were 'Standard Boardroom Practice' giving advice on how
directors should deal with the normal problems that arise in running a company,
and 'The Company Director' giving a concise outline of directors' functions,
rights and obligations.
Such was the response to the Committee's advice that the supplies
were sold out within a few days.
Copies of both books may now be obtained from the Government Publications
Centre, Star Ferry Concourse, Ilong Kong. 'Standard Boardroom Practice how
renamed 'Guidelines for Directors', costs $12 per copy, "The Company Director'
$35 a copy.
The demand for the Chinese version of 'Standard Boardroom Practice' has
been so great that the first printing of 1,000 copies has been sold out. A
further supply is being printed and an announcement will be made when copies are
available.
