UMELCO SECRETARY RETIRING

Mr. Au Wai-sum, Secretary of UMELCO, is retiring this week after

nearly 10 years of service with the office.

To mark the occasion, Sir Robert Rodrigues, senior member of UELCO,

will present him with a souvenir on Friday (February 1).

lir. Au first joined the General Clerical Service in 1930. He was promoted to Executive Officer Class II in 1947, Chinese Assistant to the Secretary for Chinese Affairs in 1952, and Assistant Secretary for Chinese Affairs in 1950. He wan appointed to his present post in 1954.

ike. Au tras awarded the MBE and appointed zu vrofficial Justice of the

Perce in 1965.

Friday.
