BUSY LEGCO MEETING TOMORROW
A wide range of subjects affecting the public will be discussed at
the resumed sitting of the Legislative Council tomorrow.
Unofficial Members will be asking 15 questions relating to transport.
public assistance, taxi fares, shipping register for Hong Kong, land for housing
and recreation, banking, and trade among others.
The Financial Secretary will also be moving a motion to amend the
Tolephone Ordinance. It is proposed to increase the annual charges for
business linos from $350 to $410, and those for residential lines from
$235 to #280.
Debate will resume on the Securities Bill and Protection of Investors
Bill with four Unofficial Members giving their vices.
Five now bills will be introduced in the Legislative Council for the
first tino. Those are: The District Court (Amendment) Bill, the Magistrates
(Amendment) Bill, the Landlord and Tenant (Consolidation) (Transitional
Provisions) Bill 1974, the Training Centres (Amendment) Bill, and the Drug
Addiction Treatment Centres (Amendment) Bill.
In addition, two annual reports by the Commissioner for Transport
and by the Commissioner of Police will be tabled.
